I have the same problem with CA0106.
amixer set 'IEC958' mute helped me until I rebooted.
After rebooting IEC958 is muted, but sound does not work.
Unmuting IEC958 and muting it again does not help.

Use alsamixer in a terminal to do that. Make sure you tell alsamixer to
adjust the correct card.
