Wine needs its 32 bit subsystem to work on amd64. Even if you could run
a 64-bit only Wine, such a thing wouldn't be useful as it wouldn't be
able to run a vast majority of windows apps (the 64-bit ones of which
also expect a 32-bit subsystem to be available)
