I just got aware that powernowd isn't used anymore. I always used '-m 2'
like Kai and would prefer 'conservative' governor. But the only way to
change it, is to edit the init-script. That's not a big issue but it's
not the clean way. I would prefer to set an option in
/etc/default/powernowd to

Actually, since Debian maintained sysvinit for everybody, this has been
generally supported everywhere; so is a valid request

I've sent a mail to their developer mailinglist that is awaitng approval
by moderators.
I've read their latest thread on the list (2007-02-27) and they seem to
be heading towards syncing with the main kernel tree so hopefully this
is the last time you'll need to poke in it yourself.

Looks like Bug #84592

I've recently done a bit of work on that, with a very recent version,
you can set IS_LAPTOP=True at the top of powermanage.py. This is a
workaround to allow powermanager to run, even if HAL reports that the
machine is not a laptop (in which case it exits by default).
The reason why I did that was
Thanks, Richard, that clarifies things. I've added an upstream bug
report at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421853.
Also: gThumb 2.9/2.10 has a better camera selection dialog. You may be
able to tell it to use the USB mode rather than the PTP mode, which
would provide delete support.
Thank you for your kind mail. I have tried to upload the file through the
url you wrote to me. But because of the size I could not upload it. I will
try one more time. At the moment firefox really doing some serious problem.
I think after last try I will go for a fresh ubuntu 6.10 installation.
Bug #90844 looks to be a duplicate of this bug.
