I thought I'd chip in that I have the same intermittent problems on a
Thinkpad T60 after resuming from suspend.
Here's the messages from the driver after resume (slightly edited to
include just the relevant bits). The laptop was suspended for about 2
hours before resume.

misconfiguration problem which was tolerated by Gutsy but not Hardy. If
your hard drive is the only one device on the primary PATA cable, it

In the BIOS setup in the menu Intergrated Devices (LegacySelect
Options) increase Onboard Video Buffer from 1 MB to 8 MB.. If you
have such option in your BIOS, it would be very interesting that you try
it to see if it solves
This is not a site-specific issue...any site can crash at any time. It is
completely random.
I have disabled all plugins. There are no add-ons or themes. The browser
still crashes.

libnss-ldap works fine, except for the autocomplete crashes.
libnss-ldapd works okay, up until it's regular crash.

I get this error when I try to run the Hardware Information program in
8.04 -- this is an upgrade from freshly-updated 7.10, I upgraded by
using the alt-CD distro disc, and I have every reason to believe this
is a Genuine Ubuntu system and certainly believe the Hardware
Information program in the
updated patch, has the advantage of actually applying. *blush*.
