Seems to be worse in jaunty. I upgraded from hardy to intrepid with no
networking difficulties, but I just upgraded the same machine from intrepid to
jaunty and had no network, because udev renamed eth0 to eth1. I removed
70-persistent-net.rules and rebooted, and that fixed the problem.

I'm also encountering this issue, with an upgrade to Jaunty that I ran

Some good news at last!
With the latest Jaunty kernel (2.6.28-11-generic) this problem has
disappeared. I have tried a large number of different kernels and this
is the only one since intrepid's first kernel that does not have the

Just a final note. Testing a disk from March 21st 2009 shows that the

Audio still crackly. When it happens the only way to fix it is to kill
pulseaudio in system monitor and then starting pulseaudio back up. All
updates installed.

I had to notice that it is still not completely gone, sometimes the
issues are back. In this case, I change the Qt4 style to another style
and restart yakuake. No rendering issues for some time again.

Changing nvidia-settings scaling method to aspect ratio scaled
improves, but does not resolve the issue (the bottom of the screen is
clipped).

Which version of OOo are you using? This works fine for me on
openoffice.org 1:3.0.1-7ubuntu1. After hitting period (.) it capitalizes
the first letter for me.
