I think the basic problem here is that mesa became too good with
emulating in the software rasterizer. :-) In other words, I think it's

ok. I've upgraded to jaunty now (from 8.10 with update-manager -d).
Now in ProE the refresh of windows is more fast that in previous
version. There's only a slight hiccups initially when i open menu or
parameter window, but for the rest it's perfect! Now it's possible to

Further tests seems to show that it only happens with spreadsheet (word
processor opens fine).
Currently I cant test, 'cause i'm on multi monitor, but with a single
display, opening an existing spreadsheet file, would make OOo Calc open
on the second Workspace, reproducibly

@nicobrainless: Sounds like a hardware failure to me. I'd suggest
investigating the smartctl utility (in the package 'smartmontools') to
check on the general health of the drive.

I see that the commit above is in the /usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-
core/changelog.gz (2:1.6.0-0ubuntu4), but this issue happens to me
further on. My SECONDARY group is now replaced with the ?? text in the
keyboard-indicator-applet and it's context menu Groups shows only the
first group;
I still have the problem with recent Jaunty build (23rd March). Booting
with i915 video card gives me 4 blinks and the autologin doesn't work.
After switching to nVidia (and reconfiguring X), autologin works. I can
provide more information, logs, whatever on request.

developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:
@Cheney: using the debs from vanilla OOo (OOO300m15, build 9379) and
openjdk-6-jre 6b12-0ubuntu6.1, the problem seems fixed (there have been
major changes in the UI, too, so I get OOO guys worked on this
recently).

That's pretty moot anyway, as the upstream bug is marked as fix
released and
Jack, there is no support for Thunderbird, as in, no code ever written
to handle it. For logging, you can edit
$HOME/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg and change Verbosity to 3 (max) and
you will find logs for trackerd, tracker-indexer and tracker-extract all
in $HOME/.local/share/tracker/.

The safest course of action given the lateness in the cycle is to tone
down the warning for Jaunty and revert to upstream in Karmic. Will sort
out patches to do this and push them to the kernel-team.
