I had the same problem. I tried to mail two attached files from
evolution twice. Both files contained the letter ö i the file name.
The receiver got files named with some sort of number.dat. Both times

I just installed a fresh kubuntu 9.04.
I installed the recommended nvidia drivers (180).
Now all is wine 3D accel works and sound.

I have a Linksys WMP300N Wireless-N PCI Adapter (EU-model) with an
Atheros AR5416 chipset. If I try to connect to the wireless network,
from a Jaunty LiveCD, the computer instantly freezes. Problems with

Just some thoughts: Grails could be quite a beast to package because it
ships all the external libraries (Groovy, Spring, ...). I think its only
certified/supported by SpringSource for the versions it ships so this
might be an issue if Ubuntu ships a modularized Grails and a slightly
different

Got it fixed after removing below folders:
.fontconfig
.fonts
and file
.fonts.conf
for some reason, my font cache was cribbing about obsolete cache so
tried this. Now it's working.
As of now I don't those folders again created, so some locally installed
fonts are missing. But that's fine.

The NVidia Settings are lost after the Ubuntu 9.04 restart or resume.
To resume my NVidia configuration I must reopen the NVidia Settings
