Up until two days ago or so (say 29 April) I was able to use the google
app engine sdk running localy to test the little app I am trying to
write.
Then all of a sudden I start getting the following errors on the
commandline of the app engine
Well, we should be focusing one issue per bug report; this one had two
separate issues and the main one (switch user) is solved, so please file
a new bug for the hibernation issue. That sounds like it may be a
kernel bug.

Hi Michael,
FYI - Following your advice, I removed the CD-Rom from the sources.list (which
even though is the active CD ROM drive, and it does work).
I then upgraded to 9.04 kubuntu and the installation completed ok, however when
i rebooted i was not able to login to KDE. I managed to logon to
I downloaded the Jaunty ISO and re-installed Jaunty. Now it is working
fine. Although, I wouldn't say that this bug was resolved.

I used Aldrin's advice from bug 367309 and that actually fixes my
problem with the bizarre brightness settings (I have yet to long-term-
test if the flashes go away as well). You type
xrandr --output LVDS --set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL combination
and the brightness behavior is completely normal again.
Please note that this bug is related to i945 systems; if you have i965,
this is not your bug.

I am not aware of any proprietary driver for -intel. Intel is releasing
the source for their driver, and this is included in Ubuntu.
As for the performance problems, you may be seeing bug 349992 or bug 357290.

I don't have a windows partition anymore and I haven't used xcircuit for
a long time.
This bug is obsolete (since Gutsy and older xcircuit).
