I had the same exact bug on a partial upgrade to jaunty from intrepid. Sound
was crashing when I had it on auto or alsa.

I've created a VPN connection in the KDE network manager plasmoid that
uses Connection Type set to X.509 With password. When it tries to
connect, it fails with VPN connection 'Maxwell' (IP Config Get) timeout
exceeded. and ERROR: could not read Private Key
Please try to boot the live CD and see if that works so we can see if
this is a config issue on your box. I've got a Radeon 9600 with RV350
chipset here and it works with direct rendering using jaunty versions.

I did a fresh install of Jaunty on my machine, with what I know for a
fact was an absolutely up-to-date version of FF, and it worked perfectly
until I copied and pasted my old .mozilla folder back into my Home
folder. At that point it once again failed to x out as expected. I

For what it's worth, I am having the same issue (I think). Cannot enable
desktop effects at all: results in screen corruption as described in
this thread, then automatic restart of xorg and login screen without

@Deepak -- sorry missread your version number, jaunty has no -proposed
and the main kernels have the fix to this bug. Looking at your log
fragment it looks like a different trace. Could you file that one as a
new bug. When you do could you check back before the first occurance of
the bug in
@tom -- we would expect that to be gone with -14 kernels, if you could
report back if your testing is successful that would be helpful.

I can confirm this bug.
I upgraded to jaunty yesterday (from intrepid) and knetworkmanager didn't
appear and doesn't connect to any wireless network. Actually it shows them, but
if you try to let it connect, nothing happens. Work-around using nm-applet
works for me, but knetworkmanager is

Kylea, Could you provide a list of steps you took to get blueman working? I
have not been able to get it to work at all on a fresh install of jaunty.
After I enable bluetooth, all the options on the blueman menu are still
greyed out and I can't do anything at all. Thanks!
