This just happened to a few days ago, when it does my cpu usage goes to 100% or
both core start going nuts at over 50 to 60% of usage.
Doesn't affect memory usage it stays low.

Since the same version works for me in Jaunty the problem most be in
combination with a new version of some other component. My guess is
either wpa_supplicant or KWallet

- a label (via Gparted)
- to get its signature UUID (use sudo vol_id -u /dev/sda1)
and to add one of then to /etc/fstab.
You should find on Ubuntu english forum a documentation about label and
UUID.

Confirmed...jaunty 64 bit...but only when Compiz(Desktop Effects) is
(are) activated. When you switch to no effects(keine) it works fine.
maybe it's a problem with compiz and the vnc server or with the nvidia
driver.
nvidia-driver version: 180.44
i would also be happy about a workaround
