Downgrading mysql from 5.1 to 5.0 is not a supported operation.
In order to do that you should:
- Backup your data
- Fully uninstall mysql5.1
- Install mysql5.0
- restore your data

Still no way to make it work on my main system but I've discovered that

I have IMAP and CalDAV account, both configured over SSL.
When I start Thunderbird, it tries to load IMAP folder, but without success.
GUI responds, but CPU load is on high level. When I click to Calendar, the
CalDAV calendar is shown as empty.

Could someone with the crazy-varying estimates please attach different

I'm seeing a very large X process.
I have an ATI x1600 (ATI Technologies Inc M56GL [Mobility FireGL
V5200]) on a Thinkpad t60p (2007-AD1).
X typicaly uses right around 1GB of virtual memory - but xrestop shows a
/total/ of 120MB in pixmaps in 61 clients - compiz has about 22MB, as
does Firefox

is a fix waiting to be approved for Karmic. You can test this out by
doing the following:

2. Click on the Updates tab

lelamal : Seems you don't have the right version of rhythmbox, the bug
is fixed in package with version that ends with 5.1 . It is known that
the current fix won't show covers for albums that does not have covers
in rhythmbox (of course), and that in some circumstances, the cover
won't appear

I had already tried that, and Evolution crashed prompty on account
setup: Something that does not apparently happen to others. It also
crashes in such a way that no debugging is triggered to submit.
I had hoped that it was just a PPA thing, but the GA version acts
exactly the same.
Try to install the newer alsa-driver from http://www.realtek.com.tw
(Downloads - High Definition Audio Codecs (Software) - Accept and Next
- the linux driver is at the bottom of the page).
You'll also need some packages to compile the drivers:
sudo apt-get install build-essential

A few things related I've noticed about this issue.
1) While the lid is closed, the screen is actually left on, meaning it's
still drawing power. Makes this a little more severe, and explains why
my battery's been dying so much faster than I expected.
2) When the lid closure is triggered, I can
