I've talked this through with a marble developer, and he is going to
report it on the kde bug tracker.
The problem seems to be that the correct co-ordinates of Douarnenez are
-4.35,48.1 but in the data files they are listed as 4.35,48.1 . As you
can see, the negative sign was left off, which
I got this one to reproduce by inserting DVD and hitting 'Add to queue'.
Appears to be the same error regardless of what format I attempt to
transcode to. I have multiverse and suitable plugins installed.

converter, reboot then install again xubuntu-desktops (from gnome env).

I think what you are describing is the the screen being locked. If i am
correct you should be able to change this by going to
systempreferencesscreensaver, then uncheck the box that says lock
screen when screen saver is active.

Have you tried reinstalling the screensaver in Synaptic?

Whenever the computer goes to sleep, hibernate, or any other screensaver
activating action, the computer frozes on a black screen.
According to DEP-3:
For patch-systems like dpatch that require the patch to be a standalone
script, the shebang line is ignored and it is possible to put those
fields in comments. The line should then follow the format “# field”.
For multi-line fields, the subsequent lines should start with “# ”
