Why is this bug only at Medium importance ? It should be critical. It

I did a bit more digging, it seems that 2:6.0.4-4 Added patch from
Ubuntu for checking if faxgetty is started via Upstart, witch I believe
is the problem i am describing here.
I assume that means we close this bug, as the sync from Debian should
bring that over, correct?

To me this looks like the get_fstype function in
scripts/caspter_helpers just needs some error handling.
Even if it worked for you Roeland this time around, it seems to me that
script should be fixed.

Installing from USB disk fails: Can not mount /dev/loop1 on /cow
Why is this bug set as Fix Released?
I'm using version 2.21.2-0ubuntu3 of gtk+2.0 (from maverick), and the
Compose-O-- sequence still gives an Õ instead of an Ō, as Eiríkr Útlendi posted
above, so apparently this bug is still present.

Several compose key combinations don't work
Had that issue as well. Just go to Applications - Ubuntu Software
Center. In the search bar type in usb without the quotes. Install the
package, usbmount After it installs plug in your USB drive and it
should be all set up. Hope this helps! Let me know how it turns out.

USB automount not
I did some more testing and found that removing all plymouth-theme-*
packages does not fully solve the problem, i.e. it still freezes. I also
noticed that the freeze can happen with or without automatic gdm login.

hard freeze just before ubuntu splash screen
Looks like fixed in latest version.
