Another way round can be to remove db_input low keystone/configure_db || true from keystone.config and just preseed it if we want interactive installation. [Bug 625023] Re: invalid myhostname parameter allowed during configuration
I've just picked up a duplicate of this. Both this and the other bug involve hostnames involving comcast.net. I suspect that Comcast's DHCP service is resulting in these hostnames. If this is true, then either: 1) A dot terminating a hostname should be disallowed, and the DHCP client should remove a terminating dot from a DHCP response before applying it to the hostname, or 2) The postfix package should remove any terminating dot before supplying a hostname automatically. Note that the other duplicate (bug 629685) is slightly different - it is invalid for a different reason. The only explicit reverse depenency is rabbitmq-stomp. That is being superseded by this release, as the plugin is now included with the server. [Bug 569757] Re: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid
Is that change to CRON backported to Lucid? I'm guessing not, but that would be nice. As for gdm/lightdm/atd I think the crucial one there is atd. The login stuff probably takes long enough to start that NIS will be up by then (plus that's nowhere near an exhaustive list of *dm's and adding all of them is probably the wrong way to go). I'm torn on whether to add the upstart wrappers or completely replace init.d with upstart in Lucid. I guess I'd lean towards the more minimal change to Lucid and having the new system in Precise, but I defer to your expertise. As long as one of them happens I think we're good. Somehow I missed Clint's reply to my message, but since NIS is pretty darn hosed in Lucid without one of these workarounds, I can't see how anyone would mind it actually working out of the box. Even if the change breaks the duct tape things people have done for 2 years to work around this bug, at least they can back those things out once and count on it not breaking again. [Bug 942448] [NEW] Xorg crash
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.10 on Acer Aspire - hopefully you've got full details in the log files. Starts and gets to X-windows login prompt. At any point from here on in, if I move the mouse cursor, X-windows crashes and restarts. I can see in the syslog file there's an error: gnome-session[3588]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.#012 (you may have the latest syslog file without that in - it seems to have re-started a new one in the past 30 minutes or so, I would *facepalm* but my forehead is hurting). This problem started on Sunday Feb 12th - it did an automatic update of some stuff (I didn't take too much notice). One thing was it reckoned it could only do a partial update, but still seemed to be OK. Then prompted me to reboot and on reboot - bang this problem surfaced. I also dual-boot this machine to a 64-bit Ubuntu 11.04 install (and am refusing to take that through the upgrade to 11.10 until there's a satisfactory fix for this). Reading around some forums (for Gentoo, Redhat and Ubuntu) it seems this is in Gnome 3 - though other users have different but related problems (usually different combination of actions before X-windows crashes - some even get to use the machine and do stuff first). unity-2d-places has been dropped as a dependency of unity-2d in the latest upload, and as a result is no longer on the CD. Hi Stuart, thanks for the comments! Okay, let's go for modified commit() and rollback(). I will make tpc off by default in ZStorm and have a way to configure it per-store, because you might don't want to have it on for all stores, for example if they set the isolation level to autocommit (tpc is not supported), something like zstorm.set_default_tpc(name, flag), and maybe have a way to configure it per-transaction too. Regarding begin(), I think we need it because the ZStorm machinery needs to call it when during register_store_with_transaction, afaiu you need to call the DB API level tpc_begin() before issuing any query in the transaction. So prepare() alone is not enough, unless we are fine with ZStorm accessing the raw connection directly via store._connection._raw_connection (but that doesn't seem great). My idea would be to add a Storm-level Xid class, that you can instantiate passing the standard XA arguments (format, transaction_id, branch_qualifier). Then you can pass Xid instances to store.begin(), and they would be handled transparently. Would it be enough to mark dependencies which do not come from Ubuntu with a special tag in the Dependencies.txt attachment, and add a field ThirdPartyPackages: yes (and a corresponding tag) to bug reports? E. g. libfoo 1.2 [Origin: LP-PPA-pitti] That's what apt specifies as origin for PPAs. Google talk plugin has 'Google, Inc.'. Dependencies.txt already has all the version numbers, so thaht part is already there.
