[Bug 711635] Re: init: post-start can cause respawn to hang

2012-04-12 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
I've rejected the lucid upload here; 5.1.62 has been uploaded by the
security team to -proposed, so this will need to be rebased on that.

[Bug 971028] Re: kerberos auth doesn't work because of kerberos server not found

2012-04-12 Thread James Page
Hi Thomas

Looking at the title of this bug 'kerberos auth doesn't work because of
kerberos server not found' - I'm struggling to see what the bug actually
is as this sounds like reasonable behavior.

Is this related to bug 971046 that you raised?

It would be good to understand how these issues relate to each other and
get a better view of your overall configuration so we can try to triage
this bug (and the others) more effectively.

MySQL cluster and standard MySQL package conflict with each other; I'm
pretty sure that I have seen this before but I can't find the bug
report.

You could try removing mysql-cluster-* packages using the following
command:

sudo apt-get purge mysql-cluster-\*

then fixing up MySQL using:

   sudo apt-get -f install

Hi Kaarle

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

I've been trying to reproduce your issue on 11.04 but at the moment I
see racoon binding to new interfaces as they are started and stopped.

This is with the default configuration.

Is there anything in your config that would prevent this from happening?

Marking Incomplete pending your response.

[Bug 979414] Re: juju bootstrap failed - 12.04 beta

2012-04-12 Thread James Page
Hi Mike

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

It looks like you don't have a SSH keypair in the account you are using:

  SSH authorized/public key not found.

You need to generate a SSH key otherwise Juju can't communicate with the
servers that it will manage - you can generate one using:

  ssh-keygen -t rsa

https://juju.ubuntu.com/docs/getting-started.html#configuring-a-local-
environment has more details.

I'm going to mark this as 'Invalid' as I don't think its a bug - but if
this does not resolve your issue please set back to 'New'.

Thanks.

[Bug 971046] Re: DNS doesn't work as expected -- ldap-server, kerberos-server not found.

2012-04-12 Thread Thomas Schweikle
Install isc-dhsp-server on a host, configure it, then deactivate it, aka make
it not to start while the system is booting.
Upgrade this server from oneiric to precise.
Watch the upgrade break because isc-dhcp-server exausting error 1 (what is
quite OK, since it is installed, but meant to not start --- why this case is
handled as error --- ??).

There are two choices to get the upgrade done:
1. remove isc-dhcp-server, resume the upgrade, install isc-dhcp-server again
2. allow isc-dhcp-server to start, risking a mess because two dhcp-servers
working on the very same subnet

The upgrade will resume seamlessly in both cases.

This is not related to the other bugs reported. It is just an other one,
and at an other, totaly distinct place, unrelated to anything reported
before. It is just something that shouldn't happen. It may be reported
isc-dhcp-server could not start, but this fact should not lead to
stopping a running upgrade of the remaining packages installed!

[Bug 971046] Re: DNS doesn't work as expected -- ldap-server, kerberos-server not found.

2012-04-12 Thread Thomas Schweikle
Now the rigth one.

This bug is not related to bind9, but to OpenLDAP. OpenLDAP has two
configuration files for authenticating against a ldap-server:
/etc/ldap/ldap.conf -- used by nsswitch
/etc/ldap.conf -- used by other tools

Both of these files are overwritten by do-release-upgrade -d, breaking
the connection to your ldap-server.

[Bug 971028] Re: kerberos auth doesn't work because of kerberos server not found

2012-04-12 Thread Thomas Schweikle
I was looking in the wrong direction, because of kerberos errors, after
upgrading from oneiric to precise.

This bug is not related to kerberos, but to OpenLDAP. OpenLDAP has two
configuration files for authenticating against a ldap-server:
/etc/ldap/ldap.conf -- used by nsswitch
/etc/ldap.conf -- used by other tools including kerberos, if kerberos data is
stored in ldap.

Both of these files are overwritten by do-release-upgrade -d, breaking
the connection to your ldap-server. In tune kerberos can't read it's
database (stored in ldap) any more, while the connection is not broken,
because /etc/krb5.conf holds the necessary information. But Informations
for authenticating kerberos against ldap are stored in
/etc/ldap/ldap.conf and these are lost. The error messages kerberos
exausts lead in a false direction. Resoring the files
/etc/ldap/ldap.conf and /etc/ldap.conf solves the problem.

[Bug 955054] [NEW] Wrong WSGI path in Ubuntu 12.04 B1

2012-04-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Installation of openstack-dashboard on Ubuntu 12.04 B1 isn't usable.

On logging in, no CSS or JS is loaded. On viewing the logs, getting
404s for /static/...*.js and .css.

Viewing /etc/apache2/conf.d/dashboard.conf saw a path issue:

Directory /usr/share/openstack-dashboard/dashboard/wsgi
  Order allow,deny
  Allow from all
/Directory

When /usr/share/openstack-dashboard/dashboard/wsgi doesn't exist or match the
WSGIscriptAlias line:
WSGIScriptAlias /
/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/wsgi/django.wsgi

On modifying this to match the correct path (given its just permissions)
it doesn't change the fact that 404s are still being reported - but that
needs to be fixed too.

[Bug 968850] [NEW] intermittent errors and login page

2012-04-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

My horizon was installed from deb packages here:

https://launchpad.net/~openstack-ppa/+archive/milestone-proposed

Description of the problem:
I can log into the dashboard, but any click of any tab *might* bring me to the
login page, showing me an error saying either that I do not have access to the
tab I clicked, or that I'm not logged in, and it asks me to log in again. If I
then log in, I go to the tab I had clicked (page loads fine). Then, if I click
another tab it will either show that tab page or do the same thing: bring me
back to the login page and make me log in again. On Firefox 11, I get sent
back to the login page *every* click. On Chrome 18, often I can click around
to different tabs as long as I do that quickly (like one click about every half
second).. but eventually it will also show me an error and ask me to log in
again.

This behavior is 100% reproducible in my current installation.

[Bug 970921] Re: Postfix 2.9.1 Crashing with Signal 6 - Postfix 2.8.5-2 works perfectly

2012-04-12 Thread LaMont Jones
I am unable to reproduce this, but I also lack the mysql setup to really
test this well.

Try this:
# cp /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
/var/spool/postfix/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1

and see if the problem goes away, (you may need to repeat that if strace
gives you yet a different library that must be installed...

If that doesn't fix it, perhaps you can toss me a more complete sample
to reproduce the issue.

thanks,

[Bug 951087] Re: Samba non-functional on boot.

2012-04-12 Thread James Page
The upstart configuration for samba makes the assumption that you are
not using this configuration i.e. it assumes that samba will deal with
binding to all interfaces.

It would be good to confirm this - please could you attach the log files
for smbd and smbd from /var/log/samba to this bug report.

In the meantime you could try adding an override file for your specific
configuration in /etc/init/smbd.override:

start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE=eth0)

This might help as the smbd daemon will then try to start a bit later
once a real network interface starts up.

I'm downgrading this bug to 'Low' as its very specific to the way you
are using samba and marking 'Incomplete' pending your response on the
above.

Thanks

are going to have the time to set up and tear down something that complex
today.

[Bug 970921] Re: Postfix 2.9.1 Crashing with Signal 6 - Postfix 2.8.5-2 works perfectly

2012-04-12 Thread Milan
Your suggestion,

# cp /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1 /var/spool/postfix/lib/x86_64
-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1

fixes the problem here. I also use postfix-mysql for mail aliases etc. I
didn't even know that Postfix needs so many files in its chroot.

Thanks for your help. I assume this will be fixed in the Postfix
packages?

Regards,
Milan

[Bug 974584] Re: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container

2012-04-12 Thread Serge Hallyn
There are a few parts to this. At core, we need /dev/shm to be a
symbolic link to /dev/shm, which *is* mounted.

/etc/init/mounted-dev.conf is supposed to create that symbolic link.
However, it does not run because we never mount /dev.

If it did run, it would do the wrong thing. That is because the
initscripts postinst leaves a /dev/shm directory. mounted-dev.conf
simply does

[ -e /dev/shm ] || ln -s /run/shm /dev/shm

That would cause /dev/shm/shm to be the symbolic link to /run/shm.

The simplest solution is probably to rmdir $rootfs/dev/shm at the end of
the container creation templates.

[Bug 972786] Re: racoon does not bind to interfaces brought up afterwards

2012-04-12 Thread Kaarle Ritvanen
What kind of test case did you use? If you stop an interface and restart
it while racoon is running, racoon has already bound to the IP address
of the interface and will work, provided that the interface keeps the
same address.

The problem occurs when racoon starts up while an interface is down for
some reason and is started after racoon. This can easily happen on a
laptop for the wireless interface when the airplane mode is engaged
during boot.

[Bug 531599] Re: device mappings for partitions not removed after build using --raw, leading to filesystem corruption

2012-04-12 Thread Louis Bouchard
** Description changed:

+ SRU Request for Lucid
+
+ [Impact] This bug occurs systematically when the --raw option is used to
+ create a VM. This results in file system data corruption messages in the
+ VM created.
+
+ [Development/Stable Fix] Fixed in 0.12.4+bzr475-0ubuntu1 for precise as
stated in comment #9 with the following addition :
+ [ Louis Bouchard ]
+ * Remove dev maps created by parted. (LP: #531599)
+
+
+ [Test Case] section with detailed instructions how to reproduce the bug.
These should allow someone who is not familiar with the affected package to
reproduce the bug and verify that the updated package fixes the problem.
+
+ On an unmodified system with an existging 8Gb LVM volume named
+ /dev/sysvg/testvmvol, run the following command :
+
+ ubuntu-vm-builder kvm natty --lang=en_US --hostname=testvm
+ --rootsize=8000 --mem=10240 --cpus=2 --rootpass=X --arch=amd64
+ --libvirt=qemu:///system --raw=/dev/sysvg/testvmvol
+
+ On an unmodified system, once completed, the dmsetup list command will show
the following :
+ $ dmsetup ls
+ sysvg-testvmvol1p1(252, 2)
+ sysvg-testvmvol1(252, 1)
+ sysvg-testvmvol (252, 0)
+
+ The sysvg-testvmvol1p1 table should not be there
+
+ [Regression Potential] This fix needs to be backported to the LTS
+ version to avoid potential file system corruption.
+
+ ---
+
I've tried to install a vm using an LVM logical volume with --raw. The
problem was that I used a too small logical volume.

  vmbuilder told me:

[Bug 974584] Re: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container

2012-04-12 Thread Serge Hallyn
For P we are working around this in lxc. No change is needed in P in
initscripts.

For Q and beyond, initscripts should be fixed. If running from
debootstrap, /dev/shm should be created as a symlink. That is not
happening. Note that a system which mounts /dev as devtmpfs (or tmpfs)
will do the right thing on reboot. But a system which has /dev on
rootfs is stuck with /dev/shm as whatever initscripts' postinst left it
as.

2012-04-12 Thread James Page
Hi Ademar

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

I would recommend for the time being that you delete the example
dc=nodomain - this is a legacy from older releases which provided an
example set of data.

You should then be able to upgrade openldap.

Marking importance as 'Low' for the time being as this is the first we
have seen during precise.

2012-04-12 Thread James Page
Please could you provide output from the following command in this bug
report:

   ls -l /var/backups/slapd-2.4.25-1.1ubuntu4.1

If you could also check that each of the ldif files that should be in
that directory contain data for nodomain and case.lan that would also be
helpful.

Marking incomplete pending your response.

Hi Rahul

I think this was probably a transient error during upgrade. Please can
you try running:

   sudo apt-get -f install

in a terminal - hopefully this should complete the configuration of
libapache2-mod-php5.

Please update this bug report if that resolves your issue

Thanks

2012-04-12 Thread Arnaud Quette
2012/4/11 Robert Ayrapetyan robert.ayrapet...@gmail.com

Seems I've missed confirmation mail somewhere, now registered.

have you patched your 2.6.1 or used trunk + the patch?
I've used trunk + the patch.

I'd be interested in a trace without the patch, to
see if we're still on the overflow side.

trunk (rev.3529) with no patch log attached.

Btw I've checked all logs I've sent so far - all of them contain:

   1.199490 libusb_get_report: Unknown error
   1.199512 Can't retrieve Report 0c: Input/output error

Seems you are talking about Dmitry's case (overflow).

you're right: your issues are the same, but BSD doesn't report EOVERFLOW
has it should.
while Dmitry is running on Linux, the patch should work there.

@Robert: could you please run the test again (with wathever version), using
debug level 5 (-D) and doing export USB_DEBUG=3 before launching the
driver?

if there is no way to catch overflow on BSD, I fear I'll have to create a
driver option to bypass this...

cheers,
Arno

Hi.

 Hi Robert,

 please check your subscription.
I'm still told that you're not subscribed!

Mine output after patch looks same (attached).

 in fact, it's different.
It's no more an overflow error, but an I/O error!

in the latter case, I'd be interested in a trace without the patch, to

The problem occurs when racoon starts up while an interface is down

on a laptop for the wireless interface when the airplane mode is
 engaged during boot.

Thats pretty much exactly what I did - I had wireless disabled when I
started racoon and then enabled it subsequently.
