[Bug 971046] Re: DNS doesn't work as expected -- ldap-server, kerberos-server not found.
Now the rigth one. This bug is not related to bind9, but to OpenLDAP. OpenLDAP has two configuration files for authenticating against a ldap-server: /etc/ldap/ldap.conf -- used by nsswitch /etc/ldap.conf -- used by other tools Both of these files are overwritten by do-release-upgrade -d, breaking the connection to your ldap-server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971046 Title: DNS doesn't work as expected -- ldap-server, kerberos-server not found. [Bug 971028] Re: kerberos auth doesn't work because of kerberos server not found
I was looking in the wrong direction, because of kerberos errors, after upgrading from oneiric to precise. This bug is not related to kerberos, but to OpenLDAP. OpenLDAP has two configuration files for authenticating against a ldap-server: /etc/ldap/ldap.conf -- used by nsswitch /etc/ldap.conf -- used by other tools including kerberos, if kerberos data is stored in ldap. Both of these files are overwritten by do-release-upgrade -d, breaking the connection to your ldap-server. In tune kerberos can't read it's database (stored in ldap) any more, while the connection is not broken, because /etc/krb5.conf holds the necessary information. But Informations for authenticating kerberos against ldap are stored in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf and these are lost. The error messages kerberos exausts lead in a false direction. Resoring the files /etc/ldap/ldap.conf and /etc/ldap.conf solves the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to krb5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971028 Title: kerberos auth doesn't work because of kerberos server not found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/krb5/+bug/971028/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 968850] [NEW] intermittent errors and login page
You have been subscribed to a public bug: My horizon was installed from deb packages here: https://launchpad.net/~openstack-ppa/+archive/milestone-proposed Description of the problem: I can log into the dashboard, but any click of any tab *might* bring me to the login page, showing me an error saying either that I do not have access to the tab I clicked, or that I'm not logged in, and it asks me to log in again. If I then log in, I go to the tab I had clicked (page loads fine). Then, if I click another tab it will either show that tab page or do the same thing: bring me back to the login page and make me log in again. On Firefox 11, I get sent back to the login page *every* click. On Chrome 18, often I can click around to different tabs as long as I do that quickly (like one click about every half second).. but eventually it will also show me an error and ask me to log in again. This behavior is 100% reproducible in my current installation. ** Affects: horizon Importance: Undecided Assignee: Gabriel Hurley (gabriel-hurley) Status: Invalid ** Affects: horizon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- intermittent errors and login page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to horizon in Ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 951087] Re: Samba non-functional on boot.
The upstart configuration for samba makes the assumption that you are not using this configuration i.e. it assumes that samba will deal with binding to all interfaces. It would be good to confirm this - please could you attach the log files for smbd and smbd from /var/log/samba to this bug report. In the meantime you could try adding an override file for your specific configuration in /etc/init/smbd.override: start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE=eth0) This might help as the smbd daemon will then try to start a bit later once a real network interface starts up. [Bug 974584] Re: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container
There are a few parts to this. At core, we need /dev/shm to be a symbolic link to /dev/shm, which *is* mounted. /etc/init/mounted-dev.conf is supposed to create that symbolic link. However, it does not run because we never mount /dev. If it did run, it would do the wrong thing. That is because the initscripts postinst leaves a /dev/shm directory. mounted-dev.conf simply does [ -e /dev/shm ] || ln -s /run/shm /dev/shm That would cause /dev/shm/shm to be the symbolic link to /run/shm. The simplest solution is probably to rmdir $rootfs/dev/shm at the end of the container creation templates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/974584 Title: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/974584/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 974584] Re: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container
For P we are working around this in lxc. No change is needed in P in initscripts. For Q and beyond, initscripts should be fixed. If running from debootstrap, /dev/shm should be created as a symlink. That is not happening. Note that a system which mounts /dev as devtmpfs (or tmpfs) will do the right thing on reboot. But a system which has /dev on rootfs is stuck with /dev/shm as whatever initscripts' postinst left it as. ** Also affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/974584 Title: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/974584/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hi Ademar Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. I would recommend for the time being that you delete the example dc=nodomain - this is a legacy from older releases which provided an example set of data. You should then be able to upgrade openldap. Re: [Bug 972786] Re: racoon does not bind to interfaces brought up afterwards

If you stop an interface and restart it while racoon is running, racoon has already bound to the IP address of the interface and will work, provided that the interface keeps the same address. The problem occurs when racoon starts up while an interface is down for some reason and is started after racoon. This can easily happen on a laptop for the wireless interface when the airplane mode is engaged during boot. Thats pretty much exactly what I did - I had wireless disabled when I started racoon and then enabled it subsequently. - -- James Page Ubuntu Core Developer -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJPhvaAAAoJEL/srsug59jDjT8QAKyoznckFilZ2i09pckdCAdG 8B50aO/IspVfkyl8tE/sdoDS4ftdXB1OE/0esIQTh1MlLrD5n/2xCOH1IlQLjWMy SUaWvC905Lf7aKpBuC5V4J/DMAJ6ZWrWJYH9KjxoHZ2vZjMktFSIHR517jauaEt+ zRMWB+bvQKc4Oji+0D3Er37vF5rZe3QLyUkd5eyraJl0ZBvEEvyH8lkFjReDjVgy feBBnD7nd1FuGFDMyu72EAi6nN2MGdJmqgKCk4tOonWG31vmCdoEIqMflVpqP3hD 4O0o/jJooohz97xLzpcNtgjDdKvGKNawBwg7vpYlLnFmOH06Mkm/e5Jlw35STAPR CVvNTFOSR8366BU5dhojdbOJvZinrollF3leCMZKVLifNYbgC8taceVjIYLHvWWR wTpCY7XXnYnUZPtBNfPT/Z4AtTEKpUcyZ+AMkiSVnpNdpyZpDUjapoTbzq0BJhbw UsGtqdOwe2TYTgc7fFnZ7HcZZ07/PeXNdSyI4UaomZhcxdKp9dTwJlY3kvQOjwSN Ycr8SIWjKoN1VfwJSypvm7eFYGeio/G2IcSs5wFeKcKsnh20h/fLz38reqvAIMuT VbnbSVjDQ5QRpUCKoRjUWE5u4tEshKGwfy8M4MjAj9hjtXG783yrtxiAqLCfwV6+ stbBR958wLVy6wjDiQ7r =vd3V -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
