Seb, the final patch for https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/4870 is
already backported into CUPS 2.2.0 in the cups 2.2.0-2 package in Debian
(today in the morning CEST). So now I am doing
syncpackage --force -d unstable -r yakkety-proposed cups
until I do not get

JFYI: logout was working fine with 15.x release, but it seems the
package was automatically uninstalled during upgrade to 16.x. Installing

The first time I tried the installation, I hadn't checked the "Install
updates" checkbox. The second time I tried, I did and everything went
ok. The only side effect was that I lost the Windows 10 entry from the
Grub list menu but this is another issue and was repaired by a boot-
repair package.

running it manually on a completely idling bbb it takes about 30 seconds until
i see the UI, watching top at that time the CPU is constantly saturated...
note that there is still a lot processes running in the background during boot
up though, where the saturated CPU will be acting a lot

I had the same problem in Ubuntu 16.04.1. After some testing I removed
all (3) printers and all cups-related packages and reinstalled them. And
now (without any additonal changes) all works fine. The only difference:
The first time I used a port forwarding to the remote print server like
"ssh -L
