This bug affects me too. I'm working on a Tyan Power8 machine (PPC64el) with
Ubuntu 16.04.1 and 10GB network cards using the bnx2x driver. A configured
network bridge on my machine results in a kernel oops if I trigger a shutdown

16.10 installer fails to install grub

I can confirm the bug on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.1. Pip user
install is severely broken!
Steps to reproduce:
1. install Ubuntu 16.04.1 (I'm in a VM)
2. sudo apt-get install python-pip
3. try some pip install. Even a simple package as termcolor
$ pip install termcolor
... installs
$ pip
Looks like it's related to the changes to settings model made from a
separate thread (QtConcurrent is used to update child scopes).

If I copy/paste the libertine binary after building locally, the app
runs fine from the Dash. But if I install the deb built locally, the app
fails to start. I'm guessing this has something to do with the way we
are trying to find the QML in the main loop.

If you have issues with wireless not coming up after suspend, please run
'sudo iw dev wlan0 scan', and see if the applet then changes (it may
take a few seconds) to wireless and displays the list of APs. It does
not seem to me like any other workarounds are likely to work for
everyone.

All code is the same regardless of archs, but the commit mentioned there
is Mac specific so those code paths are not used on Linux.
Another idea would be, if you don't mind adding and removing PPAs and
possibly needing to start over with your rootfs (if something goes badly
wrong), to try stable
