Switching between different Kernel Versions (Mainline 5.8.16 and Ubuntu Stock
5.8.0-25, 5.4.0-52) doesn't change that. Even on a fresh 20.10 Livesystem i get

I've just upgraded to groovy and hit this bug. For now I'm using socat
as a workaround:
socat abstract-listen:/tmp/.X11-unix/X0,reuseaddr,fork
unix:/tmp/.X11-unix/X0
This works, but is rather slow (and probably also opens a security hole
on multiuser machines).

The app can't easily do that without being significantly rewritten. The
reason is that applications just use OpenGL in the best form Mesa offers
it. For your system, and most apps, that's still using the hardware GPU.

Windows 10 with a AX88179 adapter. The adapter randomly crashes / driver
crashes under heavy load or the bandwidth suddenly drops down from

Just upgraded from Kubuntu 20.04 to 20.10 to find no audio device
detected. lsmod shows module loaded, but alsa/pulse/etc is not picking
up the audio device. If I boot using the old kernel that was left

Thanks. It appears your sda harddisk (Seagate 500GB) is failing with
hardware errors. I suggest the best, perhaps only, solution is to
replace the harddisk. At least that's the first thing I would do before
assuming this is a software problem...

After do-release-upgrade -d fails
cd /var/cache/apt
sudo dpkg --force-depends --force-breaks -i libnss-nis_3.1-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb
This will install the package

I am not sure about the resolution of this bug... If I use:
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 obs
OBS studio works perfectly ok. So I think that hard-crashing the app is
not really a nice solution, no? Shouldn't just propose to use software
GL?

texlive -> texlive-base -> tex-common
