Binary package hint: xorg
Upon booting Herd 5 or today's daily live cd build, the resolution is
too low because xorg.conf isn't properly filled in with the correct
monitor info. It's detected fine pre-Feisty.

Well, I found by myself the solution. It really does 'not' disappear. It
becomes just 'invisible': you can find it out (also with a bit of luck)
if you hit with right mouse button where the edge of the applet is
supposed to be.
Perhaps could be fixed and avoid panic situations showing up
I can confirm that for me this issue exists on a cold boot-up, with
Feisty (up to date to 19/3/2007)

If the error is harmless, could you hide it from the eyes of the user?

removing it via the standard dpkg tools ? (in case of buggy init.d
scripts ?)

After a cold boot the problem is there. It seems to happen on non-usb
bluetooth cards. USB bt dongles seem to get proper initialization by the
kernel, but anything else doesn't seem to. From what I saw online, the
problem did not occur on older kernels for the same kind of BT model.

I just did a clean reinstall using feisty herd 5 today. I had been
running my t43 just fine with sound on a feisty that had been upgraded
from edgy. But now my sound isn't there. It's like all the symptoms
above - I can change all the sound volumes, but I get no output.
