Re: [Bug 85751] Re: Distorted MP3 sound
I am running Ubuntu 7.04 x86 and it DO have the bug. May be it is dependent on the MP3 in question. I already posted a working safe (akaik) solution, it is up to the maintainer to apply it. Re: [Bug 85751] Re: Distorted MP3 sound
Warning: this this is a little off-topic! I also found that -vc ffsvq3 is broken (the default at ubuntu 7.04), failing to play this video: http://flyleafonline.com/media/video/SoSickHQ.zip giving only a blue screen (but not of death ;-) ). I could play the video with -vc qtsvq3 (I believe using win32 dlls). May be it is worth disabling this codec also, since it is all broken at all, and win32 dlls are not installed at Ubuntu (fromfactory) afaik. I posted this here, due to the solution be the same as distorded MP3 sound (fixing codecs.conf file). Hope this helps more users. Bye. [Bug 130470] adept uninstallable - missing dependancy libapt-pkg-libc6.6-6-4.4
Public bug reported: Running Kubuntu (installed with feisty disks, but changed all the repositories in adept manager to the gutsy ones and performed a full system update in adept manager, so technically I should have the same packages as the people who installed gutsy off a test cd right?) Saturday 4th August, I ran fetch updates. It informed me all the adept packages (adept-manager, adept-updater etc) were upgradable, as well as a load of packages which had 'apt' in their name (which i assume are the apt-get utilities). I upgraded the adept packages and then the apt packages. However when i upgraded the apt packages, it removed all the adept packages except for adept-common. When i try to do a apt-get install adept it tells me i cant install it because it cant install adept-manager adept-updater etc. if i try to install any of those packages with apt-get, I'm told it cannot install libapt-pkg-libc6.6-6-4.4. I've installed synaptic package manager and did a search for libapt-pkg-libc but it did not find anything which leads me to believe its not in the repository? [Bug 28596] Re: Totem will not play dvd
I have made some changes to the documentation. The section on 'Playing DVDs' now reads as follows: In order to play DVDs, you must install some additional software. Unfortunately, DVD support cannot be provided by default in Ubuntu due to legal and technical restrictions. WARNING: Many commercial DVDs are encrypted and so require the use of decryption software in order to play them. In some countries, the use of such decryption software is not permitted by law. Verify that you are within your rights in using it. 1. Install the following packages (see Add Applications): * gxine * libdvdnav4 * libdvdplay0 * libdvdread3 2. If you would like to play encrypted DVDs (see the legal note above), press Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type the following into the screen which appears, followed by the Return key: sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh -- Totem will not play dvd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
