[Bug 217137] [NEW] Hardy Heron: Nautilus fails to open directory with more than 140 subfolders
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I was browsing my workplace's SMB server (Windows 2003 Small Business Server) and when trying to open any folder that had more than 140 sub- folders in it Nautilus would fail with an 'Invalid Argument' error. Please note, 140 is not a special number. [Bug 217992] [NEW] mysql server crash using SELECT
Public bug reported: The following SRU request is to fix customer bug #217772. 1. This bug allows for an authenticated user to crash the mysql server using simple '@@' select queries on 64-bit architectures. This bug only affects Ubuntu 6.06 and 6.10. 7.04 and later are not affected. 2. The bug was fixed in upstream release 5.0.25. The bug is http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=20908. All versions of mysql in Dapper are affected (5.0.21-3ubuntu1 and 5.0.22-0ubuntu6.06.9). 3. Attached is the debdiff for the patch. It is based on http://lists.mysql.com/commits/10782 which had to be lightly adapted for the test cases only. The patch fixes the source code and also adds test cases to the mysql-test build test suite. 4. TEST CASE: To reproduce the bug, do on a Dapper 64 bit machine (eg amd64): $ sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.0 $ mysql -u root -p mysql select @@@VERSION; 5. The regression potential is believed to be negligible. The changes were minimal, i368 and amd64 runs the test suite without errors and the updated packages pass QA Regression Testing. Hi Derek, Care to open a new report as it seems you are experiencing a different bug than the original bug reporter. Vincenzo has commented that this issue was resolved with the updated iwlwifi available in linux- backports-modules-2.6.24. [Bug 89269] Re: power.sh: wrong laptop_mode activation
Bart Samwel: FWIW, in Debian I solved this by removing the acpi-support logic for laptop mode tools completely That is the quick way to fix it, exactly what I have on my laptop. Since you are the mantainer of laptop_mode what do you think? Would not it simplify the laptop_mode code and config file a lot (no more need of enabled/disabled/allowed to run and stuff like that)? Would not it all be more flexible and coherent (on some laptops one could activate disk powersaving with a button, for examble)? [Bug 216436] Re: [regression] Brightness hotkeys don't work anymore
For me it's sudo setkeycodes e008 136 sudo setkeycodes e009 137 that silences the kernel. After that lshal -m sees the keypresses as: 09:11:00.004: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = find 09:11:00.316: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = cut which probably is the real problem together with the fact that the keycodes are not enabled by default. OTOH it seems that now almost all special keys have this behaviour, which means that they can be made to do the right thing in the future. Previously they just did nothing. As a workaround I installed the xbacklight package and bound Super-B and Super-V to xbacklight -inc 10 and xbacklight -dec 10 respectively. [Bug 216953] Re: Feature request: Gphoto2 plugin in gvfs-0.2.3u1 missing
You seem to not understand what I'm writting. It doesn't freeze, it takes a lock on the device in the sense of exclusive access. It means that only one application can access to the device, when this one is gvfs then other photo management software are not able to download pictures. That's not a bug but a design decision from libgphoto. The way to resolve that is to have reliable unmount for gvfs and make all the software using libgphoto to use the unmount call before accessing the device.
