Nope, autossh didn't help. When I close the shell and try again, I get:

in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Lucid Lynx. I believe the
workaround is easy that the regression potential in upgrading a core
component such
i'll report to debian, it affects sid and is part of their migration of
the library from /usr/lib/engines to /usr/lib/ssl/engines but obviously
somethings gone wrong and the library location hasnt changed, causing
the problem

HPLIP provides UDEV rules from upstream. They also need to be fixed (in
the main package and in the proprietary plug-ins). Adding upstream task
for HPLIP.
