such change risks breaking interoperability due to the rather nasty way
scp works. There are other ways to get the version, e.g. from dpkg,

I have a dual boot (windows xp/Ubuntu, each running on its own HDD). After the
update, the xp system didn't start so:
1. I had to disconnect Ubuntu drive
2. use windows disk and run fixmbr and fixboot commands

When I posted this, I didn't realize that the package martian-modem-
source was not the source for the userspace program, but rather the
debian formated source for the martian_dev kernel module source. I'm
not sure how to mark this bug as invalid. However, it would be nice to
provide already

was changed in apt is not that user visible. JPM, please describe
exactly which problem do you see.

I'll try to get my hands on an Olympus camera, and make sure that it
is happy with media processed by them.
Worked perfectly. I spent the past week diving with Olympus loaner
cameras, and the driver worked fine with the older models that still
used xD media.
