I am still fighting Ubuntu1. It looks like it is working, but it is very
slow and the graphical interface does only show that it is active by

Ok, ignore the wording of the advisory. The bug is as I described. If
userlist_enable=YES then vsftpd does not ask for a password if an
invalid username is entered (and therefore it is disclosed that the
username is not valid). I will check the value of local_enabled, when I
return to my computer
The bug only occurs when whitelisting is being used. It does not occur
for blacklisting.

Actually I think '-smp 2' is what was causing me trouble. I've had
several successful boots with and without '-vga std', but none with
'-smp 2' under maverick. The host hanging may have been due to
gvncviewer, though I'm not certain.

@Peter, we made all the suggested changes to the multipath.conf file,
but still have the same issue. The root filesystem goes read-only as
soon as multipathd starts. For the sake if time, the OS will now be
installed on an internal drive instead of boot from SAN. I'll post the

I can't actually find euca_admin in any of the eucalyptus packages...
not sure if I'm a complete idiot or if it's just not there.
In any case, there seem to be bug reports scattered around that are all
variations on failing to access/import something from euca_admin.

I've uploaded a kernel .deb which (hopefully correctly) re-implements
the two fixes which looked most likely to address the bug, at linux-
image-2.6.32-29-generic_2.6.32-29.58ubuntu1_amd64.deb.
I've verified that I can at least install that kernel package on a lucid
intel system and

see are the 2.6.38 packages, and since the 2.6.32-29 kernel isn't in the
mainstream repository yet I am unsure of where to get it. Could you
