This bug is disappeared for me (it started reapppearing a week ago), with
the changes in /etc/init/dbus.conf still in effect.
Maybe this has to do with my reinstall of grub2; after that, my computer
shuts again. This possinly indicates it has to do with certain boot options?

In a fresh install of Oneiric, I had a dual screen setup with 3D capability
adequate for compiz effects.
Then I tried fglrx but had issues with the dual monitor setup and setting
resolutions with amdcccle so I uninstalled fglrx.
However, it seems that there are some after effects of having had
Tomasz, I uploaded the fix for this bug 2 weeks ago. However because I
am not an official Unity developer it has to go through a review
process, which often takes several weeks. Right now the Ubuntu
developers conference is starting too, so there are even fewer people
than usual available to
I managed to get this working by cleanly uninstalling the fglrx driver
and then reinstalling some components as detailed here.

Only tried with lightdm. There is no way to change the keyboard layout
on the logon screen and there is no direct indication of the current
layout.
This is a regression from the blueprint from Matt Zimmerman which dates back
from 2005 :
I had the same problem after updating from 11.04 to 11.10. I could get
Amarok and system sounds working after changing audio output device back
to HDA Intel. That didn't help for Firefox (only tested flash), but

When having a small screen (like on my laptop) and using a few indicator
applets, those are overlapping the menus of programs. When clicking on
an indicator, the underlying menu is activated, though, making the
overlapping applets inaccessible. See the attached screenshot

@slumbergod: Yes, it must be a dependence. But I don't like install the
gnome-disk-utility package only by one icon. I think I'll package that icon in
the next release.

Looked at this issue some more.
/usr/bin/kslideshow.kss has many transition-effects between photos.
Which transitions are being used is not a configurable option so you get all of
them.
Most of the transitions are lightweight and finish in a second or two.
Some of the transitions are complex

Battery monitor in lxpanel package displays always 100% never mind if
the battery is discharging or not.
There's a similar Debian bug already existing: #580509 for lxpanel
version 0.5.5-1. Maybe the fix didn't make it upstream?

No, the later fix is not working anymore. Now blacklisting radeon to
modprobe it manually when switching.

On Ubuntu 11.10, after suspend, it doesn't reconnect to IRC networks
(gimpnet and freenode) until I disable and re-enable the accounts.
In the attached log it wasn't connecting and I did the thing stated above, so
you get the before and the after.
I also obscured my usernames for privacy
