This would be a good small feature. Probably there should be a Hold
Version… or similar item in the File menu, opening a dialog to choose

This generally indicates that GRUB's core image and modules are out of
sync. That's more usual on BIOS installations, but it's possible on
UEFI too. Perhaps you didn't have your EFI System Partition properly
mounted on /boot/efi when upgrading grub-efi-amd64?

Actually many of us are noobs, so just copy and paste sources.list
contents.
I had same problem and didn't even know what hardy and precise means...
By removing all hardy repositories, problem resolved.
