I don't have any audio output through the laptop's internal speakers but
I get audio fine if I plug in external speakers.
I can get audio working briefly by running
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1f SET_POWER_STATE 0
as suggested at

I had similar lack of success when tweaking the override in ua-
overrides-mobile.js
Then I removed the override and starting tweaking the default UA string
just to see if it had any effect in UserAgent02.qml.
This string caused better formatting of mail.google.com and looked
similar to Android.
