Even easier workaround for Mir/USC: Just default to clone mode instead
of side-by-side, which is the problem in today's duplicate bug 1672793.
Mir's legacy clone mode will at least ensure there is only one
compositor thread, so nouveau should be stable then.

Kai-Feng, you were right about Powertop. I am a big fan of presuming th
worst. For some reason, my trackpad stopped tracking (I could click but
no movement). However upon restart it seems to be fully restored and
operational.

The nouveau driver is too unstable to handle multi-threaded rendering
(which Mir and Unity8 uses by default). If you want to use nouveau maybe
try unplugging one of your monitors.

It appears swrast has GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE = 8192, so yes 2560x4 exceeds
that. Not sure why "Copy To Texture" isn't helping to fix it.
What if you only use three displays instead of four? Does it work then?
