on netbook edition (looks like it was swapping red and blue, but only
for some, and some time only temporarily).

I went threw the not so user friendly steps of installing a modem driver in
karmic.
But when i launch Network and get to the mentioned line:
Choose guilabelSerial Modem/guilabel from the guilabelConnection
Type/guilabel drop down.

it wasn't enough to just reboot after the instalation but there you go.
