Yup, on 13.10. My ctrl+t know doesn't work. Sooo i must have messed up
testing it :). So yes there is a problem there.
Really im just wondering what use to happen, if this is a regression. As
I see 3 cases, and 2 different ways to handle this.
1) You are using a standard qwerty latin keyboard
Stephen and I looked into this. Turns out you're correct about the new
keyboard layout changer did cause this bug to resurface. Though the
reason, was there was a bug in the old keyboard layout changer. It was
using the first keyboard layout you had (such as english) for the
shortcuts.

The fix as I have in the branch atm solves the issue by:
If the shortcut is open, and we get a mouse/keyboard event then we close
the shortcut layout.
So for example with the zoom, if we have the shortcut window open (super
down), then scroll, we then hide the shortcut window.

After testing it again, it seems ibus is not enabled by default which I
thought it was.

This is broken in xim as well.. very strangely we were getting size 0
when type greek characters? Either way, there is a branch with a fix for

For anyone who wants a quick work around:
im-config -n xim
The overall problem being is the default IM in unity/nux is set to ibus.
Nux talks with ibus a bit differently, so if ibus is the active IM then
we don't set up xim handling, which means theres no valid x input
context. If theres no
O also, after doing:
im-config -n xim
You'll have to restart X, or reboot :)

On Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy, when i switch to the Greek layout, i cannot type any
greek character to the Dash's search field.
The pointer does not move at all, which means that it is not just an

So a little update, the overall problem is ibus 1.5 is always on. So
when you are typing in english its still on :(. Sadly we depend on
knowing when ibus was being enabled/disabled. Another thing is we are
moving from gconf - gsettings. So nux will have to be updated as well.
