Hmm... I think these are related... I am also seeing display issues on buttons in FireFox and Evolution as well. In FireFox this is happening after clicking on a button... The button Appears to stay simi-highlighted. In Evolution the Send/Receive button also stays simi highlighted. **

No. The startup procedure for the panel should be listed as a startup service in the startup menu and not connected in any way to the menu item in the panel itself. Simply deleting the menu item should not keep the panel from loading. A menu item should not have that kind of power. --
