I upgraded from Gutsy. Disabling the setting allow to control pointer
using keyboard is not always persistant on my box. Sometimes I'll
reboot and the setting witll stay disabled, other times I'll reboot and
the setting will be re-enabled. Definitely a bug somewhere here..

I'm seeing this issue on a fresh install of Hardy as well as an upgrade
from Gutsy. It's actually worse on the fresh install, the check box
gets ticked intermittently while I'm logged in (i.e. no rebooting
necessary to trigger it). At the present time:

(probably the latest version is ok too), install ndiswrapper (the newer

I upgraded a box from Hardy to Intrepid, and now connections to this box
via SSH and VNC are super slow.
Visually speaking, it looks like no compression is being applied to the
connection. I connect to the Intrepid box from a Windows machine using
Intrepid 32 bit, CVS checkout is working properly, here is a quick HOWTO
if you need to get your encoding going again:
In a root terminal:
apt-get remove gpac
cd /usr/src

Tunapie is still very unstable as far as downloading the listings from
Shoutcast. I've talked to the dev about it and he doesn't know what's
wrong. I usually just keep reloading the listings until they show up.
When they don't show up it just gives me a 503 error.

Jaunty, never had Karmic alpha/beta installed. Nvidia card running in
TwinView mode using the latest 190.42 driver manually installed. Nvidia
card 9500GT. Problem is exactly like the YouTube video link. When I

Here is the log after running sudo -u gdm xsplash. My TwinView
screens are setup as 1280x1024 (primary DFP) and 800x600 (NTSC TV) to
the right of the DFP. Nvidia sees my screen in xorg as 2080x1024. I
have some other metamodes setup but only used for fullscreen games, see

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 with HPLIP 3.9.2 from the repo, I just replaced
the hpijs binary with the 2.8.7 version binary from the Ubuntu 8.10
repo, and it works. I made 3 successful test prints; 1 each to the
CD/DVD tray, letter tray, and photo tray.

I hate jumping the gun on things like this, but I've been playing with

In case anyone is interested I may have figured out why this is
happening. The problem is related to a BIOS setting and the SATA port
the hard drive is connected to on the motherboard. In your BIOS
settings you will find a setting called sata ide combined mode. If it
is enabled it causes SATA
Is there anyway to get a fix backported to 20.04.1? There are more
details about the problem and a patch here:

I continue to have this problem with a machine updated to 20.04.1 with
xfce-panel 4.14.3. Am I supposed to delete some old configuration files
to reset something?

Thanks very much! I confirm this works on Ubuntu 20.10. It's just a
typo in the /usr/share/thumbnailers/atril.thumbnailer file. The Ubuntu
maintainers should correct this.
