example a pdf it asks the user to tell it what program to use. it should
be able to determine what kinda file has been downloaded

i have the exact same laptop and mine workes out of the box under system
there is a hardware drivers manager which contains all the restricted
drivers. all you have to do is enable the drivers you want and restart
you machine

for some reason i havent been on here in bout 2 days and this problem
happened to me as well when i booted the live cd. i was unable to get an
ip address even tonight. for me to be able to get an ip address i have
to reset my modem and switch. on my windows based machine i
i marked this as invalid because im thinking this might be a hardware
issue with my cable modem.

firstly depending on the revision of your wifi card i use the
bw43-fwcutter. revision one should work out of the box with that
installed. revision 2 i have noticed that patches are needed for the
2.6.24 kernel. i have tried the driver mentioned above, which is
proprietary and it didnt work. i

[jaunty] sometimes network manager asks for a WPA-Key although it is stored in
KDE wallet
i can confirm that unless one enters a password to the wallet it wont
connect to the wifi unless the wallet is open. it should allow the user
to input the password for the wifi connection and still connect

i agree with that as well. also its a bug with the plasmoid. since it
wont connect till you open a wallet. im in the process of installing
debugging symbols and should be able to post more on this issue. also
no pasword on the wallet defeats the purpose of the wallet

im running oxygen widget style as well. can you try the previous
driver version and see if you run into the same issue then in that
case if it does the trick i will change the package that this bug
should be filed against.

after updating today on jaunty i got the same error as above. i have
reopened this as confirmed.
