I have a similar problem where the cursor can not be placed on the top
line, I wish quoted text to appear at the end. In my case the cursor
always appears on the second line down with %CURSOR defined at the top
or left out completely.

You are able to change this behaviour with the program ccsm. It is under
snapping windows. I do agree the default distance is far too high. This
is also a problem if you use wobbly windows which replaces snapping
windows, but wobbly windows lacks any controls for this feature!

Basically, 2 icons are there from startup when there's a disk in the
drive. If you eject either one, the same one remains, still pointing to
/media/cdrom0. You cannot eject it, because it is not mounted - which is
a tad annoying.

I found a workaround (if it can be called that way) by deleting the
~/.azureus directory, azureus starts normally. when you backup config files,
you shouldn't even loose your settings. unfortunately this solves the problem
just until next unexpected error ocurrs.

DVD mounts, but fails to play. Trying to access it produces I/O errors
in dmesg.
Totem says Totem cannot play this type of media (DVD) because you do
not have the appropriate plugins to handle it.

above. Cold reboot makes no difference. OBP 4.9.5 would allow for a cold

but I thought it would be helpful to let you (and others) know that it
is not. I originally thought the problem with skipping video was due to
the system being underpowered for 3 tuner cards but that is definitely

Yep, I guess this is the behaviour that I was reporting the initial bug
against. If I open a file on the desktop and then close that file, I
(personally) would expect focus to be given back to the desktop.
The problem is that focus is given to the highest (z-order) window,

I disagree that it's more likely what the user wants.
The focus is returned to the top most window (z order) rather than the
window that last had focus (desktop).
Take this use case:
1. user opens a file on the desktop to determine it's contents
2. they verify that the file is no longer needed
Changing package to metacity and setting status to incomplete as a fix
hasn't been offered

Steps to reproduce:
- open a folder in nautilus and select a file
- with that window to the side, open a file on the desktop by double clicking
- close the open file
- hit delete
One would expect that the file on the desktop would be deleted,

start a new presentation. You are correct I am running edgy.

I have it working now. I removed openoffice completely and reinstalled.
This may just be a problem on fresh installs. Thanks for the help.

I too am experience this issue, as described almost daily, with today
being especially troublesome.
My system is a DELL Precision M6400 running ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit). I
have seen issues with both the built in mouse-pad on this laptop, and
external DELL usb wheel mouse.
