@notoriousdbp yeah, I'm sure it's that, too. The new (OS) drivers are amazing, performance-wise, but I'm sure they're not scaling the frequency of the GPU according to need. I tried to install rovclock - an app. to under/over clock radeon cards - but that's broken, too!

I noticed it worked for a new user account I created. After diff'ing folders I found that I could get it back with $ rm ~/.gconf/apps/panel/general So probably NOT a bug in nm, probably in panel? Anyway, fixed for me, and now I've put .gconf under git VCS so I can keep an eye on it! over
