After upgrading to the 9.10 beta, a lot of search engines were added to
the firefox selection menu, the order was changed and the favicons are
missing in the drop-down list. The favicon is however displayed for the
currently selected search

Installing the nvidia driver was non-trivial: Just running
Administration-Hardware drivers and activating the current nvidia
driver and rebooting did not change anything.
What I had to do afterwards:

maybe I just had a similar problem, although without missing library: With
sun-java6-plugin instead of OpenJDK, firefox just freezes completely when
loading the Facebook photo upload applet. The browser consumes 100% on one CPU
core, and the process java_vm another 12 % on the second core.
Replacing the modules/gpib directory in /usr/src/gpib.tar.bz2 with the
/linux-gpib-3.2.14/drivers/gpib/ directory from the newest source
tarball (linux-gpib-3.2.14.tar.gz) fixed the problem for me, too. Thanks
for the tip!

anymore and the btusb kernel module is somehow blocked so that I cannot
unload it. With the new kernel it finds the device, but no operation
works on it.
