2009-12-22 Thread Andre Spiegel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I'm trying to use a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset for audio input and output. Connecting the headset works fine, audio out is okay, but the microphone produces a distorted, overdriven sound (verified in Sound Recorder and Skype).

Here is another backtrace, taken in the state when the panel hangs. Not sure if I should try and include more debugging symbols, but I did use the gdb options that were suggested earlier in comment #3. Let me know if you need any further information. ** Attachment added: backtrace

I could provide this backtrace, but I don't understand what additional packages I should install. No packages by that name in synaptic. Can you explain? -- gnome-panel hangs on login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482690 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu

I have the same problem. I only have a single panel at the bottom of the screen. The panel contains, among other things, two weather applets. When I log in, the panel hangs (about 80% of the time, as the original submitter reported). If I then do killall gnome-panel from the console, the panel

[Bug 482453] Re: Suspend not working on Lenovo T61, neither to RAM nor to DISK

2009-11-18 Thread Andre Spiegel
Same problem here, also a T61, upgrade from 9.04 (where suspend worked flawlessly) to 9.10. The moonshine LED keeps blinking, but no further action. I have to force a hard reset with the power button. This occurs with all conceivable ways by which you could try to suspend: lid close, Fn-F4, GNOME

[Bug 482453] Re: Suspend not working on Lenovo T61, neither to RAM nor to DISK

2009-11-18 Thread Andre Spiegel
Looks like my suspend is working again. It seems to have been caused by the fact that I had downgraded my xserver to an older version under Ubuntu 9.04 to work around the performance problems introduced for the Intel graphics in that release. I now installed xserver-xorg-video-intel

2009-11-18 Thread Andre Spiegel
Bump. This issue caused suspend to fail on my Thinkpad T61 and desktop effects wouldn't work either. I upgraded the xserver-xorg-video-intel package and both problems went away. Took me a long time to diagnose this. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete =

[Bug 251617] Re: Firefox opens without window decoration with Compiz

2008-11-01 Thread Andre Spiegel
I was one of the earlier reporters of this bug (on 2008-08-25), but the problem has completely disappeared for me in the meantime. I didn't do anything special, just kept up with the usual updates (still on Hardy, 32 bit). Firefox hasn't lost its window decoration in quite a while. -- Firefox

I have the same issue on Hardy 32 bit with all updates: Firefox's window decoration disappears randomly, several times a day. (It actually disappeared when I navigated to this page here.) My workaround is to hit F11 (full screen) twice. The first activates full-screen mode, and the second
