Micah, Sorry for the lack of updates; no, it's not occurring any longer. I'm unsure what the cause was. -- Shiretoko 404'ing on pages which exist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371869 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. --

[Bug 374287] Re: hdparm -Y does not work (as it did in 8.10)

2009-06-09 Thread Ben Hodgens
This problem might be somehow related to KDE. The only reason I mention this is because I was able to previously (as of yesterday) do a hdparm -Y dev and have the device remain in sleep. This morning I installed kubuntu-desktop and upon a subsequent reboot, the disk spins up immediately. In this

Here's something additional; I'm unsure if it's pertinent. I get a segfault when running 'strace firefox-3.5' (it would appear that shiretoko detatches from strace). This is new hardware, though I have (mostly) verified its stability by running memtest86+ for a day. Here's the backtrace of

[Bug 292548] Re: nmbd -D uses 95% processor when there is not lan conection.

2009-05-02 Thread Ben Hodgens
I should note that this or a similar problem is noticeable on Debian Lenny - ie, high CPU usage by samba. This may or may not be related to CUPS on Debian: restarting samba alone doesn't fix it on the debian machine, but restarting cups -then- samba does. I've not noticed the problem in Ubuntu

I seem to repeatedly trigger this bug, just in my house (laptop w/ wifi/ethernet, on Ubuntu 8.10, samba package 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.4). It happens if the interface itself is lost, and it -may- also happen if the IP is unassociated - I believe it depends on how your samba is configured (subnet vs.

This bug is easily reproducible with a fairly stock Ubuntu install of Samba if one switches networks. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- nmbd -D uses 95% processor when there is not lan conection. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292548 You received this bug

Janaka - I would suggest going into /etc/rc#.d and moving the S20samba to K20samba, if you have not done so already. This should stop samba from starting on boot. -- nmbd -D uses 95% processor when there is not lan conection. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292548 You received this bug
