I have done the following things but all of them doesn't resolve the problem
fully:
- options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N is commented out
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-conf
- pulseaudio-dev PPA didn't help so i reverted back to the original pulseaudio
packages with apt
I tried the suggestions from Murz, but this only fixes my subwoofer, the
noisy highpitched sounds come again when i move the soundslider a little
bit up and down.
my current workaround is using gnome-alsamixer to move every slider to
100% except the master slider, this slider can be used to
Hm that can be right, but a new user of me-tv doesn't know this.
A simple information in the scan wizard, that the package dvb-apps is required
to run a scan by location would help newbies and make it even easier for people
that are new with ubuntu.

The drop downs in the scan wizard to scan by location are disabled and i don't
know why.
But everything just works when i generate a file with w_scan -x file
and choose it in me-tv as file for scanning (in german: Datei zum Scannen
auswählen).

I would suggest to make it a dependency for me-tv!

following site helped me to install grub:

i wanted to switch from lilo to grub so this is what i did to install grub
when ubuntu starts i logged in two of the consoles (strg+alt+F1 and F2)
in the first console i started sudo
thanks a lot satanasinc, this solved the problem as a workaround

i've the same problem. Running from 7.10 to 8.04 updated hardy.
the option satanasinc wrote was already disabled in my settings so this doesnt
solve the problem at my system.
