Encountered exactly the same problem while running UpdateManager.
How can I resolve this issue?
Right now I am stuck, and cannot get either forward (with upgrading packages)
or backward (remove openjdk-7-jdk), because of unmet dependencies in the
package database.
Any hints are appreciated.

I just double-checked the boot logfiles: the error message hub 1-0.1-0: unable
to enumerate USB device on port 2 is also present under Karmic, it is just not
being displayed during the normal boot process.

[Hardy][Regression] dmraid45 target missing in latest kernel
Still didn't work automatically for me:
I upgraded my Hardy AMD64 Server installation via apt-get dist-upgrade. After
that, there was still only the old module dm-raid4-5.ko in
/lib/modules/2.6.24-18-server/ubuntu/md (and yes, I performed at least one
reboot, which didn't help).

Hey, thanks a lot ... I guess that hint concerning adding an extra line
to the modules.dep would have done the trick, but in the meantime I have
installed Hardy AMD64 server ... when I do a modprobe dm-raid45, I get
the following error:
FATAL: Error inserting dm_raid45
I did exactly as you described for AMD64, and I now have two modules in
/lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/ubuntu/md: dmraid4-5.ko and dm-raid45.ko.
But I# am still getting the same error message when I do dmraid -ay:
ERROR: device-mapper target type raid45 not in kernel
What am I doing wrong? 8-((
Well, it's nice to hear that it seems to work now for someone, but with
Hardy Release, it still doesn't work for me ... my computer is a

Bug still occurs with Hardy Alpha 5.
I have a system drive (using lvm ) with two logical volumes for linux
installations.
The first contains gutsy, upgraded from an initial feisty install.
The second volume is still empty, I tried to install hardy alpha 5 when the sam
error occured.
