I've experienced it myself. It can be easily replicated using a remote shell to
launch gnome-session in an Xvfb display:

Nautilus_ maxes out the wire too.

I tryed to install the Blue-Shell plugin from their repositories but i
haven't noticed any difference. Still GTK dialogs and still no mime type
recognition. Is there anything else that needs to be done (removing some
files etc)? I tryed on a fresh installation of 12.10.

rm -r ~/.pulse ~/.pulse-cookie
pkill pulse
makes the problem disappear, but only until I change the sound volume
through the panel indicator.

I see this behaviour on one of our 10.04.4 x86 clients. The share is
located on a windows 2000 ad controller. The bug shows itself when
single-clicking on the windows share bookmark.
Sometimes just waiting a few seconds and then clicking again on the
bookmark makes the connection work.

I have a similar recurring crashes in Thunderbird.
Crashes happen about once a day, when I'm out of office.
