What I expect to happen:
Vlc to use hardware video decoding, this happended on ubuntu 22.04 on
the same hardware and on the same files with avc codec.
What happened instead:
Vls use Renderer3D instead of video decoding as shown in the screnshot
in the attachment.
hich is supposed to fix the allauth issue[4]
as well as several others.
For now, I'll try rolling back to the mantic packages, which worked
great (with patches for #2060293, #2060276, and #2060753). Owww this
package could really use some TLC :).

Also I am not sure of from which version the problem did show up since
it was not me that did the upgrade that triggered the problem. If you
can grab one of those hp laptops that seems that they are _very_ common
(my friend bough it from Mediaworld) perhaps you can bisect and find the
point when
I tried a few, with the same results (5.4.0-96-generic and
5.13.0-27-generic signed and unsigned for sure). I started to think that
it was because of something external of the kernel when I noticed that
with the "oem" series of kernels the problem just vanished. I tried some
of the "oem" series
Sorry but it is nearly impossible to do anything with the system. When
you update the kernel you have almost 5 seconds and then it freeze. It
is impossible to do _any_ kind of log...

I have a similar issue on Ubuntu 20.04 with 1.30.0-0ubuntu4~20.04.1.
Sometimes I enter my password, the screen goes black and I have to log
in another time. Once lightdm didn't start at all.
If such issues occur I have these entries in the journal:

Wikipedia files in .ZIM format do not appear on GoldenDict results.
GoldenDict's version downloaded from the Ubuntu package manager cannot
