Oh, sorry, I am using a German keyboard here. [Strg] is [Ctrl] on an
English keyboard. So for the background dialog I was able to select all
files in a folder by pressing [Ctrl] + [a], but then you can only add
them if no folder has been selected, too.

It's not yet fixed in Ubuntu, so of course you are still seeing the

Now I know what's going on. As I said, I am using the launcher in
System - Administration, but this launcher is created by computer-
janitor-gtk (not computer-janitor) and contains gksudo in the command.
Executing computer-janitor in the terminal works as you said: No
