That fixed the issue. I reinstalled shotwell with no problems so far. The
correct folders open up and shotwell stays put.
I have no idea either how that happened. I was wondering if it was something I
did or not. But I guess it'll remain a mystery for now.

I'm on ubuntu 10.04 and I use the yorba ppa to update my shotwell
installation so I'm using the latest version.
Everytime I click on a link in my places folder or a shortcut I place
elsewhere to folders such as Documents, Pictures, Music, etc.
Is there a way for me to open it in a terminal and see what processes
occur when I open those folders? I'd like help to be able to diagnose
what the issue
