[Bug 241099] [NEW] kernel oops using bluetooth usb dongle on hardy

2008-06-18 Thread SpookyGhost
Public bug reported:

I have this problem on two different kubuntu 8.04 installation:

 Laptop Acer Extensa (Intel)

 Desktop assembled MotherBoard Asus (AMD)

The problem was not present on kubuntu 7.10

I suppose problem with kernel 2.6.24.x. Now i am using 2.6.24.19.

Using bluetooth usb dongle i can generate a kernel oops using some hcitool
command
or sometimes disconneting bluetooth usb dongle.

Unfortunately, when happens i am on X enviroment so I cannot see nothing except
system hang
and caps lock led blinking and no massage are written on syslog or messages.

I manually copy this error message from console obtained using hcitool
on tty console:

Bug unable to hendle kernel NULL pointer deference atvirtual address 0001
printing eip: c0135d38 *pde= 0

This message was taken with kernel 2.6.24-16 but the problem is still
present on both my installation.

[Bug 216990] [NEW] error in auth.log when switch user

2008-04-13 Thread SpookyGhost
Public bug reported:

I am working on a kubuntu hardy (8.04) beta installed from scratch.
Everything work well but when I switch user (su) I see this
 error in /var/log/auth.log file:

  : PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_smbpass.so)
: PAM [error: /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory]
: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so

The user switch is successfully done .

The file pam_smbpass.so is not present on my systema and i have solved the
 problem installing the package: libpam-smbpass.

Maybe a missed package ?

Best Regards

I have completed the upgrade process using, same dpkg --configure -a
same apt-get -f install and adept.

This is what i can see in dist-upgrade log file (/var/log/dist-

[Bug 78477] on kde logout all disk partition are umounted

2007-01-08 Thread SpookyGhost
Public bug reported:

I have Kubuntu 6.10 installed on two different system and this problem is
present in both.
When i make logout from kde all filesystem, excepted root, are umonted. I have
tried to analyze the problem and i think is caused from
hal-system-storage-unmount script.

This script is run from hald-runner during logout, i suppose, and it uses
pumount to umount each filesystem not present in fstab. With Edgy the fstab was
changed so
the system uses UUID to find the right device to mount. I think this script or
pumount is not able to understand new fstab file and it try to dismount every
filesystem.
