after upgrading the asked packages the report showed it was a duplicate
of this bug.
I just wonder as I'm using the 11.04 why the system didn't upgrade
everything as it should.

If the package xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is installed, in several cases
the 10.04 to 10.10 upgrade fails with the error message
uninstalling xserver-xorg-video-nouveau indeed did resolve my problem.
I'm answering here because it seems the bug I sent was a duplicate.
