I'm also affected by this bug, with a macbook pro 6,2. And I also agree that a
gconf parameter would be NOT user-friendly. A graphical item, like a numeric
value or a slide bar in the touchpad settings box
itismike, i waited till oday to reply to your last comment to have time
to monitor my pc Acer Aspire 8530 and now I can say that you are write:
according to my experience the issue it is not simply a matter of
timing.
