Confirmed here also. It's very annoying as my box is a HTPC and I don't
want to have to enter a password every time I start it. I have auto-
login set so that all I have to do is turn the HTPC on and it will start
up to MythTV without touching anything. Now I have to close MythTV so I
can enter a

It's still a fairly serious usability issue: you've asked to be
connected automatically at boot, and this doesn't happen. Instead, you
have to go into the network settings and put in the wallet password,
which isn't very intuitive. I still think a different fix is needed.

i can confirm that unless one enters a password to the wallet it wont
connect to the wifi unless the wallet is open. it should allow the user
to input the password for the wifi connection and still connect
regardless of the wallet being open or not.

I disagree with BomgoMan; I don't think that setting an empty password
in kdewallet is a good solution. If this problem isn't a bug surely is a
usability one.

i agree with that as well. also its a bug with the plasmoid. since it
wont connect till you open a wallet. im in the process of installing
debugging symbols and should be able to post more on this issue. also
no pasword on the wallet defeats the purpose of the wallet

You are right, nobody should be forced to use kdewallet, so let me take
back my arguments. In particular it should not be needed for non-
protected networks whithout any key to store!

ok, finally this is not really a bug... I experienced a little with
kdewallet and I must say it rocks like most KDE stuff :) You can create
a wallet specifically for the wpa key and assign it an empty password.
It is also possible to choose to hide kdewallet from the system tray.

unprotected wireless network (where no key is needed at all), the module
although wants to open kdewallet. Why that?
