According the information the system is under Appeon 5.1. When I use IE,
there is a process of downloading Appeon, before the login window
appears. In Firefox, it just a blank window, in status bar done, and
there no process of downloading appeon.

Windows and IE only technology. I suggest talking to your school about
applications that are compatible with Linux. You can try IE under Wine or
Windows inside Virtualbox.
