Hi,
I recorded the desktop. I hope it will explain my problem much better than i
can (sorry for my english).
So in this video, first i type "ubuntu compiz" in the text area, i
double click on the second item of the search result list. When the

browser set in 'prefered applications'. Instead it opens up firefox 3
apparently via gnome-open.
This is a really annoying behavior in my case because I still prefer

Is there some current workaround for this "regression"? I have a friend
that I installed Ubuntu on his computer and he uses my nfs server. It's
easy for him to right click and mount the drive from nautilus (he's
using 7.10). But if he upgrades to 8.4, he would have to use the cli to
mount the drive

A sudo umount does remove the drive correctly even when the device isn't
attached and in fact it's seems this is the only way that the device can
be re-recognised.
New users aren't going to umount a device before unplugging it. Can
there be no mechanism for auto detection of this?

I would like to install 2.5.4.dfsg-0ubuntu2.1 from hardy-proposed as I

As for the rest of you experiencing this same problem I understand that
it is still very frustrating for you and it would be helpful if we could
fix your APIC issues as well. It appears as this bug was hardware
specific and as

I just tested each program/plugin with a French locale (fr_FR.UTF-8),
and it works for me.
